The aim of this study was to study the assessed value of Epworth sleep scale (ESS) and arousal index in severe obstructive sleep apnea hypopnea syndrome (OSAHS) patients.The 1193 severe OSAHS adults diagnosised by polysomnography recordings were divided into 3 groups according to ESS: the mild group (ESS≤12), the moderate group (13≤ESS≤17) and the severe group (ESS≥18). The apnea hypopnea index(AHI), apnea index (AI), hypopnea index(HI), the lowest oxygen saturation (LSaO₂), arousal index (ArI), and body mass index (BMI) were compared between each groups.Significant differences were observed in ArI, AHI, AI, HI, LSaO₂ between each groups (< 0.05). ESS and ArI were positively correlated with AHI and AI (=0.187-0.399, < 0.05). ESS and ArI showed a weak negative correlation with LSaO2 and HI (=-0.14--0.448, < 0.05).ArI and ESS are important indexes to evaluate the severity of severe OSAHS patients.
本研究旨在探讨Epworth睡眠量表(ESS)及觉醒指数对重度阻塞性睡眠呼吸暂停低通气综合征(OSAHS)患者的评估价值。将1193例经多导睡眠图记录确诊的重度OSAHS成年患者按ESS分为3组:轻度组(ESS≤12)、中度组(13≤ESS≤17)和重度组(ESS≥18)。比较各组间的呼吸暂停低通气指数(AHI)、呼吸暂停指数(AI)、低通气指数(HI)、最低血氧饱和度(LSaO₂)、觉醒指数(ArI)及体重指数(BMI)。各组间ArI、AHI、AI、HI、LSaO₂差异有统计学意义(<0.05)。ESS和ArI与AHI和AI呈正相关(=0.187 - 0.399,<0.05)。ESS和ArI与LSaO2和HI呈弱负相关(=-0.14 - -0.448,<0.05)。ArI和ESS是评估重度OSAHS患者病情严重程度的重要指标。
