To determine the relationship between macular thickness and peripapillary retinal nerve fiber layer (RNFLp) thickness in different stages of primary open-angle glaucoma (POAG).
Ninety prospectively selected patients with different stage POAG underwent spectral domain optical coherence tomography (SD-OCT) to determine macular and RNFLp thicknesses in different regions and sectors respectively. Correlations were then established through Pearson's correlation coefficient between RNFLp and macular thicknesses in the different disease stages.
Greatest correlation was observed between the inferior RNFLp sector and the internal inferior macula both in the whole patient population and in the subset of patients with incipient glaucoma.
When the optic nerve disc is affected by another condition, macular thickness determination may help detect POAG and monitor its progression.
确定原发性开角型青光眼(POAG)不同阶段黄斑厚度与视乳头周围视网膜神经纤维层(RNFLp)厚度之间的关系。
对90例前瞻性选择的不同阶段POAG患者进行了光谱域光学相干断层扫描(SD-OCT),分别测定不同区域和象限的黄斑及RNFLp厚度。然后通过Pearson相关系数建立不同疾病阶段RNFLp与黄斑厚度之间的相关性。
在整个患者群体以及早期青光眼患者亚组中,均观察到下方RNFLp象限与黄斑内下方之间的相关性最强。
当视盘受其他疾病影响时,测定黄斑厚度可能有助于检测POAG并监测其进展。
