Abstract

SEPs are a useful, reliable means of assessing somatosensory systems and gaining indirect information about motor systems in children. The factors of complex maturational changes in the CNS and body growth complicate the interpretation of SEPs. Thus, full understanding of factors that affect normative data in infants and children enhance clinical interpretation. SEPs in infancy and childhood in many clinical conditions have been useful in diagnosis and prognosis. The full extent of the clinical applications of SEPs is yet to be explored.

体感诱发电位（SEPs）是评估儿童体感系统和获取有关运动系统间接信息的一种有用且可靠的方法。中枢神经系统（CNS）复杂的成熟变化和身体生长因素使体感诱发电位的解读变得复杂。因此，充分了解影响婴幼儿和儿童正常数据的因素有助于临床解读。在许多临床情况下，婴幼儿和儿童的体感诱发电位对诊断和预后都很有用。体感诱发电位临床应用的全部范围还有待探索。
