Displacement of dental roots into the maxillary antrum during the attempted extraction of teeth is not an uncommon occurrence. Their subsequent discharge from the antrum into the nose is a recognised possibility. A case is reported of a dental root so displaced and found at operation to be in the ostium of the maxillary antrum, and it is speculated as to how it arrived there.
