Chronic wounds of the lower extremity can pose several obstacles for the treating physician as well as the patient. Peroneal artery adipofascial flaps have been shown to be a reliable and durable option for reconstruction of these defects for many reasons, including ease of dissection, minimized donor site mobility, reliability of take to underlying surfaces, and cosmetically more pleasing outcome.
