[Sonographic studies of the dilatation of the kidney pelvis in pregnancy at term].

In 184 pregnant women near term the urinary tract was examined by ultrasound. Dilation of the kidney could be found in 94 women (51.1 per cent). The right kidney was predominant (65.9 per cent). Mechanical and hormonal influences could be the reason. No dilatation could be found in the puerperium.
