The relevance of this work to bioprocess engineering is highlighted in the background and the central cellular metabolic regulations are shown symbolically on the right-hand side. The regulation of PDC through phosphorylation was quantified at three regulating sites using a novel indirect flow cytometry protocol, shown as "glowing" antibodies.
