The authors studied autopsy with fetal pulmonary hypoplasia among port mortem examined stillbirths and newborns. Besides pulmonary hypoplasia they found malformations of the urinary tract, diaphragmatic defects and thoracal deformities. A common consequence of these malformations is in their interpretation the inhibition of thoracal and/or diaphragmatic movements, resulting finally in pulmonary hyperplasia.
