A total of 112 women with different organic diseases of the spinal cord (spinal form of multiple sclerosis, myelitis, syringomyelia, etc.) were observed under clinical conditions. In the first group of women (n = 33) neurological complications made their first appearance in the course of pregnancy and parturition. In the second group (n = 79) the pregnancy ran in the presence of the already existent disease. The authors emphasized an adverse effect of pregnancy, parturition and puerperium on the course of organic diseases of the spinal cord.
