Abstract

AIM

The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of cold sand pack on vascular complications and pain in patients who undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention.

METHODS

This randomized controlled interventional trial was conducted in a hospital between November 30, 2021 and April 3, 2022. The patients were randomly assigned to CSP and NSP. A 5 kg sand pack was applied on the femoral area of the patients in the CSP group at an average temperature of 18.9°C for the first 20 minutes. A 5 kg sand pack was applied at an average temperature of 24.1°C after the procedure on the femoral region of the patients in the NSP group.

RESULTS

After percutaneous coronary intervention, less bleeding developed in the CSP group at hours 2, 3, and 12 when compared to the NSP group, and the ecchymosis diameters measured at hours 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 12, and 24 were higher than those of the NSP patients (p < 0.05). It was detected that the pain score of the NSP group was higher at hours 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 12, and 24 on the femoral region when compared to the CSP group.

CONCLUSION

It was detected that the cold sand pack applied for the first 20 minutes prevented bleeding and reduced ecchymosis diameter and pain intensity.

目的

本研究旨在评估冷沙袋对接受经皮冠状动脉介入治疗患者血管并发症和疼痛的影响。

方法

本随机对照干预试验于2021年11月30日至2022年4月3日在一家医院进行。患者被随机分为冷沙袋组(CSP)和非冷沙袋组(NSP)。冷沙袋组患者在最初20分钟内在股部区域使用一个5千克的沙袋,平均温度为18.9°C。非冷沙袋组患者在术后在股部区域使用一个5千克的沙袋,平均温度为24.1°C。

结果

经皮冠状动脉介入治疗后,与非冷沙袋组相比,冷沙袋组在术后2小时、3小时和12小时出血较少,且在术后1小时、2小时、3小时、4小时、5小时、6小时、12小时和24小时测量的瘀斑直径大于非冷沙袋组患者(p<0.05)。结果发现,与冷沙袋组相比,非冷沙袋组在术后1小时、2小时、3小时、4小时、5小时、6小时、12小时和24小时股部区域的疼痛评分更高。
