Review of removable partial denture components and their design as related to maintenance of tissue health.

Removable partial dentures can meet the long-term goals of oral rehabilitation if the basic principles of treatment planning and design of the prosthesis are carried out. This article reviews the design of the components of the removable partial denture as well as several salient treatment procedures related to long-term maintenance of the supporting tissues.
