To evaluate the effects of Moisture Chamber Goggles combined with Fluorometholone eye drops on visual function and oxidative stress in patients with dry eye disease.
A retrospective analysis was conducted on 80 patients with dry eye disease treated at Ninghai First Hospital from January 2021 to May 2023. Patients were divided into a combination group (n=40, receiving Fluorometholone eye drops and Moisture Chamber Goggles) and a monotherapy group (n=40, receiving Fluorometholone eye drops alone) based on treatment regimens. Outcomes compared between the groups included subjective symptom scores (VAS), tear film stability parameters, inflammatory markers, oxidative stress indicators, and adverse reaction rates before and after treatment.
Post-treatment, the combination group showed significantly longer tear breakup time (BUT) and higher Schirmer's test values compared to the monotherapy group (both P<0.05). Levels of tumor necrosis factor-α and metalloproteinase-2 were significantly lower in the combination group (P<0.05). Additionally, the combination group had significantly lower VAS scores, Ocular Surface Disease Index (OSDI) scores, and conjunctival hyperemia grades, as well as higher tear meniscus height and National Eye Institute Visual Function Questionnaire (VFQ-25) scores (all P<0.05). No significant differences in the incidence of adverse reactions were observed between the two groups (P>0.05).
The combination of Moisture Chamber Goggles and Fluorometholone eye drops significantly improves subjective visual quality, promotes tear secretion, stabilizes the tear film, and reduces inflammatory and oxidative stress markers in patients with dry eye disease, while maintaining a favorable safety profile.
评估保湿眼罩联合氟米龙滴眼液对干眼症患者视觉功能和氧化应激的影响。
对2021年1月至2023年5月在宁海县第一医院接受治疗的80例干眼症患者进行回顾性分析。根据治疗方案将患者分为联合治疗组(n = 40,接受氟米龙滴眼液和保湿眼罩)和单一疗法组(n = 40,仅接受氟米龙滴眼液)。比较两组治疗前后的主观症状评分(VAS)、泪膜稳定性参数、炎症标志物、氧化应激指标和不良反应发生率。
治疗后,联合治疗组的泪膜破裂时间(BUT)明显长于单一疗法组,泪液分泌试验值也更高(均P<0.05)。联合治疗组的肿瘤坏死因子-α和金属蛋白酶-2水平明显更低(P<0.05)。此外,联合治疗组的VAS评分、眼表疾病指数(OSDI)评分和结膜充血分级明显更低,泪河高度和美国国立眼科研究所视觉功能问卷(VFQ-25)评分更高(均P<0.05)。两组不良反应发生率无显著差异(P>0.05)。
保湿眼罩联合氟米龙滴眼液可显著改善干眼症患者的主观视觉质量,促进泪液分泌,稳定泪膜,降低炎症和氧化应激标志物水平,同时保持良好的安全性。
