Slit lamp biomicroscopy without contact lens is achieved by upright Gullstrand fundus microscopy. The controlled angulation of the slit beam makes it possible to measure the position of objects in the vitreous cavity by correction of object and image points. This form of stereotaxis is used for guiding the laser beam in the fundus.
