• Localized tamponade can be seen following cardiac surgery. • Localized right atrial tamponade can cause functional TS. • Localized fluid collection fully compressing the RA can mimic the chamber itself. • Clinical and echo findings in circumferential tamponade may be absent in localized tamponade.
