[Sequelae of the incorrect use of seat belts (author's transl)].

Injuries resulting from the incorrect use of the seat belt are described and classified here. The changes in the frequency, gravity and localization of certain injuries resulting from the application of seat belts are demonstrated too. The correct use of the belt is emphasized and the consequences of the loose seat belts are listed. The incidence of closed abdominal injuries is discussed (seat belt syndrome etc.) and a review of the literature is given too.
