Meningococcemia: a case report.

Meningococci in their pathogenic state can result in meningitis and/or meningococcemia. Fulminant meningococcemia has a high fatality rate and encompasses multiple complications which occur concurrently. Only with immediate and intensive care treatment can there be any hope of survival. Even with survival of the disease, the resulting complications and treatments can be overwhelming. The case report clearly demonstrates the extensiveness of the disease, but also displays a positive outcome in this particular case.
