[Providing amelia patients with prostheses - overtreatment? Experiences with long-term follow-ups].

Critical evaluation of the long-term follow-up experience in three patients with melia leads to the conclusion that prosthetic care must be regarded as inadequate and useless, as an instance of overtreatment. The reasons are shown, the special problems in rehabilitation of amelic patients are put forth.
