Ascending ramus for reconstruction of the mandible.

We have developed a technique for an immediate bone graft utilizing the anterior part of the ascending ramus for repair of bone defects resulting from resection. We applied this operative procedure to a case of an extensive ossifying fibroma of the mandible. As a result, the postoperative x-ray examination showed a well-restored shape of the mandible, and the postoperative function was excellent.
