More frequent use of opaque radiography of the elbow will require the adoption of a strict technique, adapted to the indication, and methodical interpretation of findings based on sound anatomical knowledge of the anatomy of this complex joint. Various practical suggestions for facilitating this exploration are given, together with anatomical data on the orientation of the articular surfaces and the appearances of the different recesses which directly condition the technique and interpretation of this examination.
