Abstract

The purpose of this study is to establish the normal value of bone density in average Ghanian. The method of measurement is that described by Doyle (Br. J. Radiol., 34: 698-712, 1961). The value obtained through the present research can be regarded as normal ranges of bone density of Ghanian in 1977. They will serve as a standard for estimation of the bone density of the morbid. Also it will be a useful aid for the diagnosis of severity in some diseases, such as nutritional, hormonal and hematological.

本研究的目的是确定普通加纳人的骨密度正常值。测量方法采用多伊尔（《英国放射学杂志》，第34卷，第698 - 712页，1961年）所描述的方法。通过本研究获得的值可视为1977年加纳人的骨密度正常范围。它们将作为评估患病者骨密度的标准。此外，对于某些疾病，如营养、激素和血液学疾病的严重程度诊断也将是一个有用的辅助手段。
