Abstract
The localized gastric abscess and the diffuse stomach phlegmon are called phlegmonous gastritis. This very rare disease can hardly be diagnosed preoperatively. Resection is the method of choice for the stomach abscess. Gastrectomy might be the safest therapeutical concept for total gastric phlegmon.
