The decomposition rates of CaCO3 in Concha Arcae calcined at various temperatures were determined by CO2 gravimetry, and a simple method was established to judge the decomposition of CaCO3 in calcined shell drugs. In addition, the quality of shell drugs obtained commercially from six cities was compared.
