A new species of Lepocreadium, L. valdiviensis (Digenea) from the small intestine of the flounder, Paralicthys microps Günther, 1881, is described. It differs from the other species of the genus mainly in the distribution of the vitelline follicles, which extends from the posterior extreme of the body to the ventral sucker; anterior portion of the body covered with spines; uterus preovaric; ovary and testes compact. This finding extends the known geographic distribution of the genus and identifies a new host for this taxon.
