A woman's health agenda.

A "Woman's Health Agenda for Health Promotion and Health Protection throughout her Life Span" is proposed. The agenda is based on synthesis of recent literature, health policy documents, and a study of women's health care in nine countries in Europe and the Middle East partially supported by a World Health Organization fellowship. Analysis revealed no comprehensive guideline for women's health promotion and protection, although most of the elements can be identified. The role of the individual woman, society, and primary health care providers; strategies for implementation; barriers; and requirements for desired outcomes and anticipated benefits for the woman, her family, and society are presented.
