Abstract

The paper is concerned with the definitions of an attack, fit, paroxysm and crisis. The classification of paroxysmal conditions in neurology is provided in terms of their etiology, the levels of the pathogenetic mechanisms and semiology. The general hypothesis of their pathogenesis is proposed.
