[Sudden unexpected death in rare cervicooccipital dysplasia (author's transl)].

1. A case of sudden unexpected death due to rare cervicooccipital dysplasia is presented. 2. At postmortem examination of cases of sudden death without a definite cause of death the finding of a deformed base of the skull should suggest removal and mazeration of the upper cervical vertebral column for close scrutiny.
