Although standard MR imaging techniques can provide most of the important diagnostic information needed for studies of the female pelvis, intravenous contrast and bowel contrast agents can provide critical ancillary information in selected patients. Imaging techniques and diagnostic principles related to the use of these agents for gynecologic disorders are discussed.
