Symmetry of bilateral mandibular impacted third molars.

Sixty-three patients from the Dentistry Department of the Philippine General Hospital were included in a study to determine the symmetry of bilaterally occurring impacted mandibular third molars. Radiographic evaluation was done in terms of depth in bone and angulation. There does not seem to be any symmetry (27%) in comparing the third molar to the contralateral tooth.
