3 cases are reported of successful surgical treatment of isolated osseous rupture of the posterior cruciate ligament. Fixation was undertaken with 2 crossed wires leading from the popliteal fossa to the anterior aspect of the tibia. The advantage of this method is that the popliteal fossa does not have to be reopened 6 to 8 weeks later when the wires are removed.
