[The participation of the cholinergic system of the shell and core portions of the nucleus accumbens in regulating instrumental behavior in dogs].

Different effects of carbacholine microinjections in the core and shell parts of the n. accumbens were revealed in chronic experiments carried out in 6 dogs. Both kinds of microinjections led to unspecific and prolonged motor activation of the instrumental defensive reaction.
