Ninety seven patients radically operated upon for cancer of the rectum and colon were examined, the follow-up being 1-14 years. In 59 cases colostomy was performed. The disability and occupational activity of these patients have been studied as well. The working capacity of patients operated after the Miles technic was retained in 50%, 43%--resumed their former activities. The colostomized patients were found to have the greatest difficulties in gaining rehabilitation. For adequate screening of the colon through a colostome a special device--an anoobtlrator was developed.
对97例接受直肠癌和结肠癌根治手术的患者进行了检查，随访时间为1至14年。其中59例行结肠造口术。还对这些患者的残疾情况和职业活动进行了研究。采用迈尔斯技术手术后患者的工作能力，50%得以保留，43%恢复了以前的活动。发现结肠造口患者在康复方面困难最大。为了通过结肠造口充分筛查结肠，研制了一种特殊装置——肛门开口器。
