This report describes the two-dimensional echocardiographic and autopsy findings in a patient with aortic valve endocarditis complicated by a posterior aortic root abscess with rupture into the right atrium, creating an aortic-right atrial fistula, with a later development from the root of the fistula of a pediculated thrombus inside the cavity.
