A new integrator for monitoring time and temperature of steam sterilizers.

Steam sterilization is the simplest and most useful method of sterilization of thermostable materials. Sterilization depends upon three factors: time, temperature, and the presence of live steam. For the first time an instrument can be employed to monitor these three factors with immediate readout. This paper contrasts the advantages of this integrator with sterilizer controls, and biological and chemical indicators; and describes methods utilized in testing the integrator.
