Home care PPS holds promise of profits.

Home healthcare agencies might be able to make money under a Medicare prospective payment system, according to preliminary results from the first year of a three-year HCFA demonstration project. After a year, most of the 26 agencies in the project made a profit under the per-visit reimbursement system HCFA is testing. A per-episode of care system will be tested later next year.
