The benefits of accreditation are twofold: by adhering to national standards individual agencies can improve the quality of the care they provide and gain recognition in their communities, in turn bolstering the entire industry's image. The accreditation programs of both the Joint Commission on Healthcare Accreditation and the Community Health Accreditation Program offer guidance on internal quality assessment--a must for any agency's success.
