Abstract
This final rule responds to public comments on the January 21, 1988 final rule with comment period that implemented section 9311 of the Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act of 1986. The January 21, 1988 rule described the circumstances under which the periodic interim payment (PIP) method is available for services furnished by hospitals and other providers.
