Salvage of failed total ankle arthroplasty is challenging because of the large bony deficit and disturbed soft tissue envelope, and often is a concomitant subtalar joint disorder. Failures may be revised by implant removal and arthrodesis with or without bone graft. The four common fusion methods are reviewed.
