Hemolytic Streptococci in supramammary lymph nodes from healthy pigs from the Peruvian jungle.

Hemolytic streptococci were isolated from 53 percent (18) supramammary lymph nodes from healthy adult pigs raised at the Peruvian jungle. The isolates were identified as Streptococcus zooepidemicus, Streptococcus infrequens, Streptococcus faecalis and Groups P and S. The possible significance of the findings are discussed.
