Abstract
Free transplants of hair-bearing scalp as "plugs" or "strips" are an adequate treatment for male alopecia. Cooling the grafts eliminates hematoma and infection and allows successful take and growth of larger plugs. However the result of grafting wide hairstrips is unreliable.
