In the current regulatory and cost-conscious environment there is no longer any margin for error in the hospital budget. This means that the medical staff must join administrators in the budgeting process to create a tight, effective budget--by submitting accurate data, informing administrators of future plans, determining priorities to fit financial constraints, participating in long-range capital planning, and strictly keeping to the final budget.
