This amends language in the CHAMPUS Regulation to allow benefit consideration for electric-powered, cart-type vehicles. This revised language will allow benefit consideration for these vehicles which may be appropriately used as alternatives to electric wheelchairs, when they are medically necessary and certified by a physician to best meet the patient's medical care needs based on the patient's physical condition and which can be operated safely by the patient.
