Abstract

An attempt to evaluate the total radiation risk caused by the diagnostic use of radionuclides was made. The estimate was based on the calculation of the genetically significant dose the mean dose in the bone marrow and the dose in the whole body and in the organs which accumulate the radionuclides. The statistical data were furnished by the nuclear medicine service of the Province of Varese.
