Bridging the gap between for-profit and not-for-profit boards.

Although boards of directors of for-profit organizations and boards of trustees of not-for-profit organizations have some universally shared functions and responsibilities, they also have some unavoidable differences. The authors discuss those differences and suggest some ways in which not-for-profit boards can become more businesslike, despite their inherent limitations.
