An enquiry into the possibility of obtaining an infrared image of superficial veins by using a TV infrascope demonstrated this method to be more sensitive by comparison with the IR-photography. The former procedure enables it to obtain a picture of the venous network superior by its informativeness to that obtained with the aid of IR-photography. This justifies recommending the procedure in question for the purpose of diagnosing conditions in which there appear changes in the superficial veins, in particular for diagnosing pregnancy, characterized by a progressive development of venous anastomoses in the region of the mammary glands.
