Abstract
Housing costly technology in a mobile unit may promote flexibility in where and how it is used. Mobile technology allows hospitals and physician groups to provide services that they might not be able to offer otherwise. Joint ventures with mobile technology bring both services to communities and patients to support those services. Mobile units harbor a range of complex procedures, but the road to using them in an appropriate and cost-effective manner can present unexpected twists and turns.
