Faced with increasing financial pressures under the state's all-payer prospective pricing system, the New Jersey Hospital Assn. launched a broad-based political action campaign last year to bring relief to its beleaguered hospital members. The New Jersey experience makes a compelling case for hospitals or hospitals group elsewhere to formulate political action plans.
