This rule eliminates current Departmental procedures for setting limits on payments for drugs supplied under certain Federal health programs; and revises Medicaid rules concerning the methodology for determining upper limits for drug reimbursement. This rule enables the Federal and State governments to take advantage of savings that are currently available in the marketplace for multiple source drugs. It also maintains State flexibility in the administration of the Medicaid program.
本规则取消了当前部门关于对某些联邦医疗项目下供应的药品支付设限的程序；并修订了医疗补助规则中有关确定药品报销上限方法的内容。本规则使联邦和州政府能够利用目前市场上多源药品可得的节省资金。它还保持了各州在管理医疗补助项目方面的灵活性。
