A report on the treatment of capillary hemangiomas and nevi flammei using laser or broad-band infrared light to initiate thermal coagulation in the blood-filled vascular spaces, leaving intact the nonaffected overlying skin layers. Clinical experiences with 26 patients treated with equipment developed by the group are discussed.
