Pending the long-term solution of the problem of coronary atherosclerosis, and considering the unlikelihood of a universally effective, nontoxic, anti-arrhythmic regimen, it seems likely that ambulatory real-time monitoring is a promising avenue of approach for attacking the largest share of IHD mortality, namely the 2/3 who currently die before any medical attention.
