(1) Clomifene is teratogenic in animals. (2) Few data are available on human exposure in early pregnancy. A moderate increase in the risk of fetal malformations, especially skeletal defects, cannot be ruled out. (3) It is crucial to check that women are not pregnant before prescribing clomifene for them. (4) Pregnancies inadvertently exposed to clomifene warrant close supervision.
